'UrbanMeadowRiver started with a clear vision: to share true Neapolitan pizza with New York. Established by the Bianchi family in 1987, our pizzeria opened as a cozy, family-operated spot built on recipes passed down for generations.
Marco Bianchi, our founder, honed her craft while traveling across Italy, training with master pizzaiolos in Naples—the home of pizza. After coming back to the UK, she set out to recreate the spirit of real Italian pizza, relying on classic techniques and top-quality ingredients.
What started as a humble 12-seat spot has become a cherished neighborhood favorite, yet our dedication to excellence and authenticity remains unchanged. We continue to use traditional wood-fired baking methods, mix fresh dough every day, and seek out the best ingredients available.
Today, 'UrbanMeadowRiver is still family-owned and run, with the second generation of the Bianchi family guiding our passionate crew. Though we've adopted a few modern touches, our core purpose is unchanged: making mouthwatering, authentic pizza that brings people together.
